Education

CROWLEY MUSEUM & NATURE CENTER

With the help of past grants from Sarasota Audubon, Crowley Museum & Nature Center has expanded its educational programs for elementary-age children. The programs, which are consistent with the goals of SAS, include classes for children and adults, special events, butterfly and bird walks, day trips, and much more. For more information, call 322-1000, or log onto Crowley's website: www.crowleymuseumnaturectr.org.

ROBERTS BAY COLONY WATCH

With the cooperation of Sarasota High School, Sarasota Audubon monitors the condition of the breeding colony islands in Roberts Bay, and the effects of erosion on the nesting sites. Students and SAS volunteers take monthly boat trips to help count birds, nests, and chicks. Rick Greenspun is the coordinator of the program. If you would like to help him in this critical effort (it's fun!), call Rick at 284-2055.
