Bequests to the Sarasota Audubon Society

From time to time, we receive requests for information on making bequests to Sarasota Audubon Society. Unlike chapters of many other organizations, SAS is a separate legal 501(c) (3) organization, as well as being a chapter of National Audubon.  Hence, we can legally receive bequests.  Please consider Sarasota Audubon Society in your will. There are several ways you can do it.

1) Specific Bequest: this involves a precise amount of money or property.

2) Residuary Bequest: SAS will receive all or a portion of your estate after debts, taxes, expenses and all other bequests.

3) Percentage Bequest: SAS will receive a percentage of your estate as part of the residuary estate.

4) Contingent Bequest: this is activated if a beneficiary dies before you do.

When considering a bequest, please talk to your tax accountant or attorney first.
