WALKS AT OSCAR SCHERER STATE PARK

Enjoy a 2-mile walk the first and second Thurs of the month, Oct. thru Apr with Audubon leaders. See Scrub Jays, bobwhites, towhees, and woodpeckers. Meet inside the park at 8 a.m. at Lake Osprey/Nature Center. Park fee. Bring Lunch or enjoy the pancake breakfast, after the walks for only $4 in the Nature Center. Call the park (Russ Delaney) for more details, 685-7454. March 4th TRAM RIDE, RESERVATIONS REQUIRED. Call Russ to sign up.
 
CELERY FIELDS WALKS

CHICK CHECK WALK

Let's see how our beach-nesting birds are getting on. Meet at N. Lido parking lot, corner of Ben Franklin and Ringling at 8 am  - with Jeanne Dubi (355-1709)
   Saturday, Mar 20: Check for mating rituals of Snowy Plovers; some may already be on eggs.
   Saturday, Apr 17: Least Terns should be setting up nests; Snowy Plovers incubating.
   Friday, May 21: Black Skimmers should be nesting along with Least Terns. Search for chicks.
