Have you seen a bird you can't identify? There are
resources to help. See
birding.com for
some tips. The
Patuxent
Bird Identification Infocenter can be helpful. There are numerous
birding guides, of course.
But, maybe you're still stuck. If you have a clear
photograph, you can email it to our resident expert. A couple
technical tips we'd like to ask you to follow. Use a jpg file
extension - bmp and tiff files tend to be too big to email, and don't add
much detail. If possible, crop the photo down so that it is mostly
bird - a photo which is 95% tree or pond may not be that useful.
Do tell our expert any details which may help - the
approximate size of the bird, where the photograph was taken, and any other
information which may be relevant.
