In the spring of 1975\, on the eve of the US Bicentennial\, Tina was selected to reintroduce Bald Eagles into New York State in the hope that the species could eventually repopulate eastern North America. This presentation is based on her 2024 book Return to the Sky: The Surprising Story of How One Woman and Seven Eaglets Helped Restore the Bald Eagle. \nNOTE: This will be a hybrid meeting. DESCRIPTION:Noon – 1pm at the New Garden Theater\nNo charge for Selby members; $12 for nonmembers (includes all day admission to Selby Gardens – pay upon arrival) \nThe Swallow-tailed kite is a very beautiful hawk beloved by those who can see it\, but it flies very high and so fast that many never get to see it even when it is right here in the area. During the six months each year that these hawks visit the area\, they nest and raise their babies. Margi’s talks include very rare photos and videos of these birds showing every aspect of their lives during their six months every year in central Florida.
