Sarasota Audubon Society depends on our staff of fun, committed and passionate volunteers to keep Sarasota Audubon Society one of the best Audubon chapters in the country. Volunteering is the best way to meet people and become a part of our community of environmental friends. By giving your time and passion to one of our volunteer projects, you’ll be helping the environment of Sarasota County, one of the most beautiful and wildlife rich counties in Florida.

We have many opportunities available for volunteering.  Docents at the Nature Center and Bird Naturalist on the Boardwalk at the Celery Fields.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BECOMING A SAS BIRD NATURALIST ON THE BOARDWALK AT THE CELERY FIELDS?

Over 30 Sarasota Audubon Society volunteers have been trained to become Bird Naturalists and ‘staff the boardwalks’ every day of the week for two hours (8:30am – 10:30am)

Wearing Bird Naturalist caps and badges with scope and binoculars in hand our Celery Fields Bird Naturalists greet visitors, impart Celery Fields history, assist in bird and plant identification and provide information about the Sarasota Audubon Society.
All Bird Naturalist have had training and are invited to drop by the boardwalk any time to watch the more experienced members in action.
More volunteers are needed to ensure we can cover every day of the week/month. If you would like to join the fun and become a Celery Field Bird Naturalist please contact Marcy Packer packmw@aol.com,
